A MEETING of the AWARDS, GRANTS AND TRANSPORT (APPEALS) COMMITTEE was held at the CIVIC OFFICE, DONCASTER on TUESDAY, 22ND OCTOBER, 2013 at 10.00 A.M.

There were no apologies for absence.

 

8.         DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

 

There were no declarations made at the meeting.

 

9.         MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 3RD SEPTEMBER, 2013  

 

            RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 3rd September, 2013, be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

 

10.       EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS

 

            RESOLVED that the public and press be excluded from the meeting in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, as amended, on the grounds that exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12(A) of the Act, was likely to be disclosed.

 

11.       ACCEPTANCE OF URGENT ITEMS OF BUSINESS

 

In accordance with Section 100(B)(4)(b) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Chair accepted two urgent items of business in relation to applications for transport assistance, which were not included on the Agenda for consideration at this meeting, as contained in Minute No. 12, (4(b) and 4(c)) below.  The reports were presented to the Committee as urgent items because the applications for transport assistance were received by the Pupil Support and Transport Team, after the agenda for this meeting was despatched and due to the timescale between this meeting and the next scheduled Committee meeting on 14th January, 2014.

 

12.      APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE

 

The Committee considered Appeals in relation to transport assistance.

 

              RESOLVED that

 

4. (a)   Application Case No. 1176, be refused.

 

(b)   Application Case No. 1177, be refused.

 

       Upon consideration of Application Case No. 1177, additional information from the parent was tabled at the meeting for Members’ information.

 

(c)   Application Case No. 1178, be refused.

 

Upon consideration of Application Case No. 1178, additional information from the parent was tabled at the meeting for Members’ information.
